The MAC has had a couple of pretty interesting weeks, despite having games scattered across nearly every night in November. Things are wrapping up in a tidy little package for their final week and the Championship Game on December 4th. Central Michigan clinched the West division by watching Ohio take down Northern Illinois on TV, while Ohios win sets up a final game against Temple for all the Eastern marbles. Either way, two of those three teams will make for a great conference championship game.

For a day without a lot of compelling matchups, Week 12 at least set us up for a big finish in week 13. The non-BCS world has 3 championships and 4 divisions decided during the regular season, and yesterday 2 conferences and one division were locked in, and leaving several showdowns for this coming week. First [...]
Things went mostly according to plan this weekend in the Sun Belt, with no major upsets happening and the standings staying about the same. Troy fell behind to Arkansas and never managed to dig its way out of the hole, but that seems unlikely to disrupt their romp through the conference at this point. Read Post
Conference USA had an eventful weekend, providing one of the biggest upsets of the weekend nationally, and taking at least a couple steps toward sorting out the championship race. Of course, this just serves to set up more intrigue in the next couple weeks- Houston still has a chance to go 10-2, but is back to potentially missing out on the conference championship game entirely. ECU’s dismantling of Tulsa beefs up their claim to be East favorites, but Southern Miss is charging hard too. Read Post
Week 11 is now over and done with, and we’ve been set up with some very compelling drama in the last two or three weeks of the season in most of our conferences. Troy still has as stranglehold on the Sun Belt, and TCU has finished off its biggest rivals out west, but the other three [...]
Week 11 has shaped up to be the biggest week of the year in the non-BCS ranks- two conferences could become all but over today, and maybe a division or two elsewhere.
Last night, Akron looked like they might upset Temple, for about a quarter- nearing the end of the first, they held a 17-7 lead, but [...]
Things are coming down to the wire in CUSA, with only 3 weeks to play. Five teams are still alive in the East, while the West looks to be a two-team race between Houston and SMU. Read Post
We’re looking at a fairly inauspicious weekend for the Sun Belt, unless Troy pulls the upset of the month up in Fayetteville. We do have one game featuring two teams near the top of the table, but otherwise it’s mostly top vs. bottom or just two struggling teams on the docket: Read Post
All eyes are on the Mountain West this week (except for maybe a couple on the Big 10- their loss), as Utah comes into Fort Worth to try and wreck TCU’s season for the second year in a row. Meanwhile, we have a critical game in San Diego that may decide who goes bowling and who stays home. This is a unique day for the conference, as every game is readily available on TV with almost no overlap, assuming the Mtn and CBS College are readily available, anyway.

The MAC is speeding right along with their month of mid-week games, with 3 games in the last two nights that I haven’t gone over. Today on the fringe, I’ll be cranking out our weekend previews, but for the four biggest games of the day, have a look at the Pub post, since I hit them over there.
