Fringe Hangover, Saturday, November 14

Week 11 has shaped up to be the biggest week of the year in the non-BCS ranks- two conferences could become all but over today, and maybe a division or two elsewhere.

Last night, Akron looked like they might upset Temple, for about a quarter- nearing the end of the first, they held a 17-7 lead, but seven straight Temple touchdowns over the next 35 minutes or so took care of the Zips.  Temple advances to 8-2, 6-0 in the MAC, and hasn’t lost since September 19.  All they have left is Kent State and Ohio, and those two games will decide the division outcome.

I believe that Bowling Green is officially eliminated from the East race, as their only chance to steal the division hinged on Temple losing last night.

As for today, the games I’ll be keying on are as follows:

Houston at UCF (in person), Noon

Idaho at Boise State & Fresno State at Nevada, 3:30/4 (or when I get home from UCF)

and of course, Utah at TCU, 7:30.

When I get back around, I’ll plan on joining in the latter half of the weekly Gally liveblog, which is by far the greatest liveblog about the South’s great sport run by a Canadian of all time.
