Fringe Hangover, Sunday, October 18

Saturday was an eventful day around the non-BCS universe.  I’m not seeing a lot of big upsets though- teams seemed to fall in line with expectations.  Houston beat Tulane, despite only being ahead 9 to 6 at the half, TCU won big and BYU won by 10, Troy beat FIU to stay unbeaten in the league, and FAU picked up its first win of the year over freefalling North Texas.   Toledo knocked off Northern Illinois to further muddle the MAC West picture, but Central Michigan extended its lead by beating Western Michigan and going to 4-0 in the MAC.  E. Michigan, Ball State, and Miami all lost to stay winless.  Back out West, Idaho wins again to run the streak to 6 wins, 3-0 in the league, and Fresno State hasn’t lost in the WAC since Boise beat them.

As for today on the fringe… I make no promises.  Hoping to get quick conference updates today- I didn’t see most of the games so all I know is whats on the box score, but I can at least get the standings up to date.  I’d like to give you a couple report cards too, but that depends on a couple other obligations.  Enjoy your NFL Sunday.
