We’ve seen four straight nights of football, and the two most rewarding finishes came in the non-BCS matchups on Tuesday and Wednesday. Granted, the Sun Belt game was a little rough, but the 4th quarter was more compelling than either of the Big East games this week.
We made it through 24 mid-season report cards this week, which was mildly exhausting. But I have one more for you in a little while, the Central Michigan Chippewas. At that point, I will have finished everybody who played game six last weekend. Next week is another run of course, and if you’re reading along, you are now a non-BCS wizard. Use your new power wisely, like by winning sums of money making wagers on games nobody else understands.
On my radar today are a handful of afternoon games, and then I’m taking off for a real, live football stadium. I’ll be live blogging with Gally and the gang through the Texas-Oklahoma game, and I’ll get that link out on twitter once we get started about noon.
Games I’ll be tracking today, for as long as I’m in front of a computer:
Mississippi State at Middle Tennessee (can MTSU pull another big upset?), Army at Temple (Army might need this one to get to bowl eligible), Wyoming at Air Force (Can Wyoming keep this surprising streak going?)
Afternoon games you’ll have to keep an eye on yourselves…
Central Michigan at Western Michigan (MAC West supremacy on the line), Houston at Tulane (Houston should blow them out, but will they get tripped up by lesser opposition again?), Colorado State at TCU (look for TCU to continue its march into the top 10), Akron at Buffalo (time running out for either team to make a move this year).
And then evening games. I’ll be in the stands for Miami (FL) at UCF, imagining what it would be like to break our 0-20 streak against ranked teams. That’s probably as far as it goes. Elsewhere, we have Troy at FIU, as Troy needs to stay unbeaten to keep up with ULM, Northern Illinois at Toledo, as Toledo tries to get its defense to match its stellar offense.
There’s plenty of other good stuff going on around the country, as always, check my Pub post for a detailed preview of the best or most interesting.
