Watched most of Nevada-Missouri last night, finished it up this morning. A few random thoughts after my first full game watching these two:
- Colin Kaepernick does have a lot of raw talent but was lacking in decision making last night.
- He especially likes to run, sometimes too soon, but doesn’t make good choices or see the field well when he’s actually running.
- The Missouri QB hasn’t thrown an interception all year, apparently. That’s because when he misses, he misses by 10 yards. He was frightfully inconsistent last night.
- Missouri is probably a 3-4 loss team overall, but still better than most of the WAC. If Nevada cuts down on a couple mistakes but otherwise plays like they did last night, they could still be ok this year in conference. The problem is that they will need to win 6 of their next 9 to get bowl eligible, and still have Boise, Fresno, Hawaii, La Tech, and a pretty good UNLV on the grid. Not sure if they’re a lock to win 2 of those.
On to today’s games. I’ve given you all you need to know in the weekly previews, but the games I expect to lock on to for the afternoon will be these:
Noonish: Fresno @ Cincinatti, Southern Miss at Kansas
3:30ish: UCF @ ECU, Troy @ Arkansas State
Early Evening: CSU @ BYU, Louisville @ Utah, Boise State @ Bowling Green
Late Evening: Texas Tech @ Houston.
You can look for live tweeted updates from relevant games all afternoon, but I will actually be (gasp) leaving the house this evening. Should be back to catch 2nd half of the Houston game, but might have to watch that one first thing in the morning. Have a great day of fooball, see ya on the twitter side.
